Irises by Vincent Van Gogh (1853 - 1890) - Irises is one of several paintings of irises by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, and one of a series of paintings he made at the Saint Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France, in the last year before his death in 1890.
Largely self-taught, Van Gogh produced more than 2,000 oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, and sketches, which became in demand only after his death.

When I started my painting my colors didn't look right. I notified the company, I had received the wrong paints. They got a new kit out right away. This is a pretty picture but has a lot of small spaces. The paint was really creamy and canvas good. Enjoyed painting and watching the irises pop out!
I am really enjoying this painting I'll post the end result when done. I'm on #7 but skipped a bit and im finishing #15 now.I've been painting consistently for a couple months it's going great. My one suggestion is to include more of the smallest size that comes with it. I've gone through a few already. They wear out. Thanks so much!
The colors are true!!!!! Yay! You can't say that for every PBN. As always with MBN, there is plenty of paint without ordering extra. This one was especially fun to complete....I think it was all the blues, purples, and greens.. Folks, order the Framed with Stand option. Well worth the extra money
I have done over 20 MBN paintings and find this one a challenge for a few reasons. I received the wrong paper guide, and have to rely instead on an emailed version. It's a pain to have to try and view it on a tablet, and I find that I am often " winging" it when it comes to paint color instead of fiddling with the tablet image.
I am also finding that I frequently have to go back and repaint the previous day's work, because white dots of canvas keep popping through. This despite the fact that I painted in good light and tried to make sure the area being painted was completely covered before moving on. I am not sure why this keeps happening.
The necessary second ( or third) application of paint then leads to a decrease in sharpness of lines, leaf points, etc, so my end product probably won't come anywhere close to the original!! But that's OK.
The colors are lovely, and I am hoping it will turn out well.
If you are up for a challenge, this one is for you!!
