Well worth your patience

I gave this framed canvas 5 stars because I found the numbering for this kind of resolution to be exceptional. I seem to frequently gravitate toward the Sung Kim paintings. He is an extraordinary artist and I was impressed that this numbered painting captured the spectacular breadth and splendor of the canal so well. Every time I do an MBN painting I find myself saying that this one has become the best yet. This one has become the best.

That being said, I feel a need to point out a few observations: The resolution of this painting was so fine that there were more than a few areas that got pinched off and were numberless. Most could be figured out. I used a lamp with a magnifier which greatly helped with all the tiny areas. I also recommend brushes with gauges 0 - 0/4. I felt a need to enhance parts of the canvas (i.e. the couple in the gondola). The paint set had some inadequacies that I was able to compensate for with older MBN paints; The set contained 2 black tubs (#12) and I ran out of both. I also ran out of #23. Paint #24 thankfully held till the very last brush stroke. Paint #19 was supplied as a dark brown that seemed too heavy for some parts of the canvas (i.e. some parts of the canal’s waters). There also could have been several more shades of green to go with the flowered areas and water, but I understand there are limitations as to what they can be supplied.

And so, even though I found this to be a bit labor-intensive (it took me longer than others have indicated it took them to complete), I highly recommend this beautiful canvas.

Summer in Venice is beautiful!

Beautiful painting. NOT for beginners. Took a month to paint. It turned out beautifully.
Already painted Eiffel Scene. It is beautiful, too. 3 more paintings in line to paint plus, 3 Nutcrackers.
