Finally finished the painting. Looks good from 6ft away but patchy close up. I’ve gone over the finished painting with a clear glazing medium as I feel it looks more consistent .
I had my doubts in the beginning! I questioned colors made phone calls to MPBN, however, i stuck with the process considering this painting was probably my high 40 something painting from MPBN. My patience paid off, slowly I began to see the roses emerging from the canvas and I began to feel what the artist was conveying. In the end everyone is captured as well as myself after framing is complete at the reveal!
This is my 7th Masterpiece by Number pbn and while I love every single one, this is absolutely "beautiful". It is a lovely interpretation of the original. The roses present more as white than the yellow in the original, but I actually like the pbn more. I did do some blending on the background and made a few other color changes in the table, leaves and vase. This was a very very enjoyable painting on which to work.
Paints much darker than advertised, a bit disappointed at this. Maybe the overall finished painting will come good?
This is my sixth Masterpiece By Numbers, and I’m doing it as a companion to ‘June Flowers’ which was my absolute favorite. I’m loving these gorgeous roses almost as much, if not more, as they’re a bit easier to do. Everyone who’s seen my ‘work in progress’ so far loves it, and has the same thought I do - that it seems you could just pick these roses off the canvas - they’re so real-looking! I’m really enjoying painting this, and can’t wait till it’s finished and framed. As always, the canvas and paints are very good quality - creamy paints and only a few need a second coat, because like it or not some colors are notoriously hard to cover, like certain very dark greens, oranges and yellows, but that’s the same across companies - it seems certain color pigments are like that. Regardless, I’m happy to go over a couple colors, as this is a JOY to paint!
