Oak King by Anne Stokes - The Oak King is the personifications of summer in various folklore and mythological traditions. He engages with the Holly King in an endless "battle" reflecting the seasonal cycles of the year: not only solar light and dark, but also crop renewal and growth.

Wow! Great piece! Tons of detail and great shades of green and brown. Everyone who sees it, compliments. I highly recommend this one.
I got this to past the time during quarantine, then the next day I got called back to work the next day. This quickly became my way to destress after I returned from work. I have tried adult coloring books in the past but they make me really anxious and overwhelmed that I will mess them up by coloring something wrong. I haven't done paint by number since I was a child and didn't really remember liking them much but I thought what the heck why not try something since all I was doing was sitting around the house. These arrived pretty quickly for the mail being what it is at this time. This was the first one that I tried and fell so in love I had to order more right away. I ordered the other ones from the Ann Stokes collection and I see there are more so I'll have to order those too! The canvas was lovely and not creased at all from the journey. The numbers were easy to read and I love the enclosed guide that I had to use only because I messed some up. I had more than enough paint to finish my paintings, although and this is just a paint fact and in no way a criticism you do have to thin it out with water every once in a while. It's just the deal with acrylic paint. My daughter is loving getting all my extra paint to use for herself. This painting in particular has a lot of small, small spaces and I recommend adding on the small bushes they sell or buying some from a craft store. The brushes that come with the kit will do the job if you have nothing else. I just like variety, My favorite brush is one I stole from my daughters cheap paintbrush kit. The only weird thing is that the brushes that come with the kits can be different sizes in length, but it's not a big deal I just have favorites that's all. This was one of the hardest I have done. I have completed two and started another. My advice for a beginner is take your time and it will turn out great.
