Hummingbird by Joe Hautman - Ruby-throated hummingbirds are impressive birds. On average, they beat their wings 52 times per second. They can reach flight speeds of up to 63 mph to evade danger. They’re also endurance flyers.

When it comes time for their annual winter migration, these birds will start beating their wings and they won’t stop until they’ve covered some 1,300 miles — not bad for a bird that weighs as much as three paperclips.

Now you can paint this wonderful painting with our amazing paint by numbers kit from our Animal Kingdom Collection.

Hummingbird

This was my first MBN. I loved it! I actually just finished my second one. Warmth of Winter. This is so much fun and I’ll be a painter for life! Thank you so much!

Lovely picture, some issues

This is my very first Paint by Numbers and I’ve enjoyed it on the whole. I have had to overcome a few issues though. First the brushes included are not up to the job in my opinion. In fact I have had to invest in some fairly expensive brushes to complete The Hummingbird. It’s control that is required and you only get that if you buy expensive brushes. Another problem was the paint. I had easily enough to complete the project (which I was worried about after I saw extra sets of paint can be ordered), but for me I found it just didn’t cover the numbers. In fact some areas had 7 coats and I could still see the numbers! I googled it and didn’t get much advice, so I contacted MBN and the tip they gave me was to use white-out tape (not liquid). It looks like it’s worked on the worst areas so I will be using it again on my other two paintings which I have yet to start. It would be great if the light colours (which show numbers through the worst) was thicker. The dark colours - no problem. But I have to say MBN have answered all my questions swiftly and it’s good to know they are on the end of an email. I can’t quite say yet that I’ve ‘got the bug’ exactly, but having seen my completed picture it has given me encouragement to carry on. I have already dropped another three Masterpieces in my basket because there are such lovely choices with this company! So its a thumbs up from me!

Fun to do and addictive too

I have enjoyed working on my first Masterpiece paint by numbers. I have found that I need to paint the spaces more than once for it to look good. I haven’t finished it yet, but it is almost done. I need to figure out how to get it framed at an economical cost.

Beautiful painting to do, even second time around

A fabulous painting completed for a second time. I would really recommend Hummingbird to anyone who has yet to venture to the Animal World of Masterpiece By Numbers. It’s a very forgiving project, great for improving your skills of blending colours.

Fun to paint

This one was easier to paint than the other more difficult ones O have completed. So this one was a joy to do and I finished it pretty quickly. It now hangs in our master bathroom and I love it.
