Beach at sunset

At first, I was a little concerned because it seemed a little too dark, but as the painting progressed, I liked it more and more. My son loves the beach and he actually picked this one out for me to paint. When I sent him a picture of it after it was done he said, “WOW”! I look forward to giving it to him!

Disappointed

Having done about a dozen or so MBN's now which have all turned out excellent, I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this one. It looks like a paint by numbers picture! I found that in some areas there was too much differential between certain colours and not enough in others making it very hard to blend them. In particular, the sunset and beach areas look very poor. The whole picture turned out a lot darker than the one advertised. The seagulls don't look anything like birds and I didn't like the way the deck chair fabric changed colour from green/yellow to black/grey. I appreciate that it's supposed to represent shadow/light changes but it looks so wrong. Should have been to darker shades of green/yellow. Sorry, but this one won't be going up on the wall.

Pretty picture

This is a pretty picture. I am OK with it but not thrilled. I think my issue is I started with a very intricate painting and this one isn't, so it was too easy. I spent months on my first painting and this was done in days. This is the painting I wish I had started with for a learning curve on following the numbers and learning how they can snake out to tributary like projections. There were a few numbers that needed a second coat but that was no big deal. I had more than enough paint, but do pamper the paint as I use it. I stir it often and add water as soon as I notice the flow from the brush is not as desired. This was all learned from my first painting. I mentioned it only do some reviews having issues with the amount of paint. All in all it is a pretty picture but lacks the "wow" factor of one that is more detailed. I must note I am a dental hygienist therefor have great patience for the intricate. I love starting a project and looking up to see three hours have passed without realizing it.

End of a Perfect Day

This was so relaxing to paint! I felt like I was at the beach the entire time that I was painting. I took some liberties with colors to brighten the scene.
