Overall it looks very similar to the photo but I found the colours were slightly off. More purple undertones and hues than golden.
I enjoyed painting this sunset picture very much.
This scene was enjoyable to paint.
I took the canvas to Hobby Lobby, to have it dry mounted for $10, before painting. I found this to be much easier to paint, handle and frame.
I bought three MBN kits pre-covid and my daughter completed one, with me intending to complete the other two.
Fast forward 5 years and I finally got around to completing my first attempt….
The paints had all dried out but I managed to revive them all (some better than others) by adding water and grinding/stirring the pot contents until relatively smooth.
I found the painting appeared darker than I was expecting, with some areas without a colour number and I also could not have achieved the required finish with the brushes supplied in the original kit, however with care, better and finer brushes and some perseverance I achieved what is for me a pleasing result.
I have commenced ‘A taste of the past’ with fresher paints, and I look forward to completing that painting to a better standard.
I take frequent breaks which I find makes the experience much better, and MBN painting is my new hobby 😎
This painting brought me great joy. It’s so peaceful. I would play gospel music and paint. What a joy.
