I fell in love with this beautiful work of art by artist Sung Kim.
That is why I was so disappointed to see that the numbered MBN version
failed to meet my expectations with respect to the original and I deducted a star:
Aside from good numbering on the wall in the foreground and some of the
structures, the color matching and detail resolution on much of the canvas
was poor. The flower beds and shrubs looked flat and lifeless to me. Important
details such as the clock on the tower and features such as steps and fences
were washed out or totally missing.
The good thing is that I could play “pretend artist” and attempt to add some
better color and detail back to the canvas. That was the fun part and I was
thoroughly happy with the result.
This would be a good choice for a “first-timer”. The cells are larger and easier to paint. The painting was enjoyable to do as the last 17 were and the MBN video on blending was helpful for the sky and water colors.
Second time I have painted this one, first time my sister in law bagged the finished article, framed it and has it now displaying in her home. A beautiful project and I would thoroughly recommend anyone considering having a go, do so you won’t regret it..
My first paint by numbers! Absolutely loved doing it, had more than enough paint, numbers easy to see and couldn't be happier with the finish result. It looks beautiful! Will definitely be purchasing more!
My husband loves this one! After 20 paintings he thinks this is the best one so far. I enjoyed this one because of all the beautiful colors and of course the scenery.
