I was really excited to do this paint by number for my fiancé for Christmas. But as soon as I got the canvas I knew it looked odd. But I trusted the process and did it exactly as I was supposed to and yeah… it looks weird. Maybe the photo I sent wasn’t the best but in that case I would have hoped that someone at the company would have reached out to tell me considering how much they say they work on these before sending them out. If someone did look at this and say “ya that looks like a human arm” then I’d be shocked. After doing the whole painting I had to go back in and make a bunch of changes so that I actually had hands that weren’t blobs and you could tell we were holding champagne flutes. From a far distance it looks okay but up close it’s a mess. And overall the colors are just weird considering the photo I sent. I don’t know who decided my arm should be black but here we are. Attached are the original photo and the painting after I fixed it. Prior to me touching it up I simply didn’t have any finger nails, the rings were invisible, and the glasses were indistinguishable from one another.
I liked doing this one very much. Splashing water doesn’t translate well to paint so the dogs color is off. I never thought about the color of splashing water. I am framing it and will send it to my brother. Thank you!
Very happy with Klondike’s painting—she’s beautiful! When her parent saw an in progress painting of her he said, “That’s freaking amazing!” I want to frame the painting and send it to them. Klondike went over the rainbow bridge not that long ago. Thank you!
