How Painting Helped A Caregiver Find Peace
Almost every single day I receive messages from people who tell me how much they are enjoying their painting and how it has given them so much joy. I love to read these messages. A big part of the reason that I started this company was because I wanted to share the pleasure that painting can bring.
Sometimes, even I am surprised at how much painting can help people. This week I heard from Lisa Smith. Her story moved me so much that I wanted to share it.
"Just wanted to say thank you. The last six years of my life have been difficult caring for my husband injured in the war.
This is my space. It is the place I go to listen to music and paint. Masterpiece By Numbers has given me a place to go in every painting. A place to go to get away from the dark places your mind can take you.
I thought you would like to see my finished pieces I purchased last month and I'm getting ready to start my third. Thank you for providing quality kits and a wide variety to choose from at affordable prices.
You are my therapy!" - Lisa Smith
I was so touched by Lisa's email that I had it posted it on our Facebook page, so that our wonderful community could show Lisa that she was not alone. The response was fantastic and Lisa replied:
"I thank all of you for the support, encouragement, kind words and congratulations. Masterpiecebynumbers literally changed my life. Painting is something that I have always loved doing since I won a multiplication number contest in the third grade.
My prize from my teacher Mrs. Herald was an oil paint by number painting of the Mona Lisa.
Art has been a passion ever since. Anyone that understands caregiver's stress knows the importance of finding time for yourself.
Finding masterpiecebynumbers and finding my passion again feels like I'm living again, like I can breathe again. This last month, I haven't cried, prior to this, it was daily. That is why they are my therapy. Masterpiecebynumbers cares about its customers and I will be a customer for life! 😊"
