Irises by Vincent Van Gogh (1853 - 1890) - Irises is one of several paintings of irises by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, and one of a series of paintings he made at the Saint Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France, in the last year before his death in 1890.
Largely self-taught, Van Gogh produced more than 2,000 oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, and sketches, which became in demand only after his death.

I found this art work from Van Gogh to be quite challenging and time consuming to paint. I enjoyed painting his piece and was pleased with the outcome of my painting. This is my 5th painting from Masterpiece PBN and as usual the quality and integrity of Masterpiece is 5 stars from me. I may not be an artist, but feel like one...a quote from Vincent Van Gogh..."If you hear a voice within you say " you cannot paint" then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced."
The most intricate one I've done.
The fine brushes I'm buying wear out fast. A couple colors don't cover well but that's to be expected with modern lead free paints.
I'm enjoying the challenge and expect this work to look very good.
Masterpiece by number is the best quality I've seen.
This one was really fun to paint & had a variety of techniques required. The end result was quite gratifying & I'm looking forward to sharing this one with a great friend.
Loved the way this painting turned out. Just beautiful! Love all the different blues!
Very intricate. Difficult to find brushes for such small areas. Really fun, and I am getting better at it. Very engrossing.
