Turning For Home
Turning For Home by Richard Wheatland - The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. It was used throughout the world during WWII and remains the most well known and well loved of all British planes.
The Spitfire was the only British fighter produced continuously throughout the war. Today around 54 Spitfires remain airworthy.

I really enjoyed my first Masterpiece by Numbers.
I was lucky enough to know Group Captain Brian Kingcome (92 Squadron) before he passed away, so I added his markings QJ-F as a tribute.
I’m looking forward to choosing my next painting.
This is my 3rd paint by numbers and really enjoyed this one, the detail on the spitfire is very challenging but satisfying
I am thrilled with how this painting turned out.It is a birthday present for my son-in-law who is a veteran .I am sure he is going to love it
After I had completed the first Spitfire painting, a friend asked me if I would do one, as a birthday present for his friend, who was in the RAF, so I said yes. Completed it about 2 weeks ago, will be posting it shortly, to get there in time for his birthday. Even though I've done it before, I still enjoyed it, seeing the plane gradually appearing in its glory!
