This painting was so fun to do! The colors are vibrant. I am a disabled adult on a limited income, painting keeps my hands and mind busy which helps so much with my mental state of mind. I am totally lost when I can't afford to buy the next one, I never realized how much it helps me.
Absolutely loved working on this painting which took me 9 weeks to complete. I opted to purchase the 2nd set of paints which I did put to good use because I wanted the extra coverage. I also found the extra brush set invaluable as they enable me to do some precision painting. I have read that others felt the need to use some type of magnification and I totally agree; in fact, I have a large old magnifying glass which I held in my left hand almost the entire time I painted. Like a couple of the other reviewers, I did make a change in the directions and opted to paint the background between the 3rd and 4th fence posts with the #1 instead of the green. I also added some spots to the 3 ladybugs and gave the dragonfly on the top right a body similar to the original painting. My only complaint was that the lines and numbers on the canvas were a challenge to cover and it took me several touch ups to achieve the desired result. In the end, I love this picture and look forward to displaying it in our home.
This is a beautiful and highly detailed painting. I re-colored portions of it to make it mine. The whites and yellows were frustrating because they were so translucent, but I finally figured out a process that made it work for me! This one was a challenge, but lots of fun.
This is my fifth MBN. I love them all. Thanks to James Hautman for his beautiful painting. I made numerous changes to make it my own. I mixed five custom colors using paint from previous kits and used three other colors as-is from previous kits. I blended in numerous places. The custom colors were done to make the sky, male cardinal and bluebirds look the way I wanted. I added or reworked feet to the birds where they seemed needed. I reworked the grasshopper, ant and damselfly to my liking. I added antennae to the butterflies and bumblebee and wings to the bumblebee. I added spots to the ladybugs. I enhanced flowers to my liking. Such changes make the painting even more fun to do. Lovin' MBN!
